Kashmir High Alert:– The Kashmir Valley remains under tight security for the second consecutive day as authorities struggle to maintain order following violent protests. The unrest erupted in response to the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, leading to significant clashes between protesters and security forces.
Kashmir High Alert: Security Lockdown and Educational Shutdown
In light of the deteriorating situation, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has intensified restrictions across the valley:

Educational Institutions Closed: (Kashmir High Alert) The Education Minister announced on Tuesday that all schools and colleges in Kashmir will remain closed until March 7 to ensure the safety of students.

Public Life Paralyzed: Markets, business establishments, and public transport have come to a standstill in Srinagar and other sensitive districts.

Internet Curbs: Authorities have imposed temporary restrictions on mobile internet services in specific areas to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumors.
Violent Clashes and Casualties
The protests, which turned violent on Monday, resulted in injuries to at least 14 individuals, including six security personnel. In response, a massive deployment of additional paramilitary forces has been carried out in “hyper-sensitive” zones to prevent further flare-ups.
LG Manoj Sinha’s High-Level Review
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level security meeting to review the prevailing situation. He directed the security forces to remain on high alert and deal strictly with any elements attempting to disrupt peace.
“Maintaining law and order is the responsibility of every citizen. Forces must thwart any attempt to jeopardize the valley’s tranquility,” the LG stated.
Crackdown on Rumors and Misinformation
The police have registered cases against several individuals and media outlets for allegedly spreading rumors under the guise of reporting protests. Officials warned that irresponsible reporting would meet with “stringent legal action.”
