Iran Reopens Strait of Hormuz Exclusively for Chinese Vessels Amid Ongoing Conflict

WORLD NEWS

TEHRAN: In a strategic move amidst escalating regional tensions, Iran has announced the partial reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime gateway for global oil and freight. However, Tehran explicitly stated that this access is granted exclusively to China.

The Iranian authorities clarified that only Chinese oil tankers and container ships are permitted to navigate the strait. Issuing a stern warning to the rest of the world, Iran declared that any unauthorized vessels attempting to pass through the waterway would face direct military action.

Official sources in Tehran stated on Wednesday that this decision was made as a gesture of gratitude toward Beijing for its support during the ongoing conflict. This development comes as joint military strikes by the U.S. and Israel against Iran entered their fifth day on Wednesday.

In a display of force, Iran has already reportedly targeted 10 oil tankers that defied its warnings. This blockade poses a significant threat to global energy security, as the Strait of Hormuz is the primary supply route for crude oil to many Asian nations, including India.
